I saw a really old abandoned graveyard and thought of this.
This is so perfect...
I live in the country and we have little rounded stubs sticking out everywhere. A few years ago, someone was digging a foundation for a condo complex and they uncovered a casket which contained an 18th century gentlemen, well-preserved, wearing a coat with George Washington inaugural commemoration buttons. My husband and I found in an old genealogical tract for his family a mention of a small graveyard his family set down on their migration between North Carolina and Georgia. Last year we used GPS and took back roads to locate it. Mostly rounded stumps with one legible stone. We cleared the weeds and refuse away and will go back again this year.
That is really cool. That must have been a really interesting. Thanks for sharing that...I'm jealous.
this is really good, the faces express it all, and the scenario puts it in contest. never seen a drawing express such grief. great work, congratulations.
These face express a lot of feelings-being disturbed, uncomfortable, having heavy thoughts. The feeling is doubled in your context of work.
I like how it has this american gothic, or victorian feel. Spooky. Are graveyards ever really abandoned?
Oh yes. My parents have one on their property. The grave stones are gone but it is there. In the country families would have them on their farms and when everyone moves away or dies then there is nobody left that cares. It is sad but that is life.
Just how I am feeling right now.... Wonderful job.
wonderful as always
The simplicity of the medium adds a great value to your work, another great piece ^^
